Meliá Braga, part of a global hotel group with more than 35 owned properties, wanted to enrich the guest experience with music across several of its spaces, including a fully remodelled restaurant. ArtPro, the Projects Department of Salao Mozart, designed the installation and chose Spottune specifically for El Olivo, the hotel's 150-seat restaurant serving international and Portuguese cuisine.
Following a careful remodel of El Olivo, the hotel wanted to add real value for guests enjoying a meal in the restaurant, especially on a sunny day when the space comes fully alive. The brief called for a sound experience uniform enough to cover all 150 seats evenly, paired with a curated musical selection appropriate to the moment, whether a relaxed lunch or a more lively evening service.
ArtPro designed the hotel's wider audio approach across multiple spaces, choosing different systems suited to each environment. For the exterior poolside terrace, that meant weatherproof speakers built for outdoor exposure. For the restaurant itself, Spottune was the chosen system.
Four Omni Cord speakers and two Sub units were installed in El Olivo, run through a Spottune Stream transmitter. 360-degree sound coverage meant the system could fill the full 150-seat capacity evenly, without the hotspots or dead zones a smaller number of directional speakers would create in a room that size.
The hotel's wider audio project, designed by ArtPro, used Dante audio-over-IP adapters elsewhere in the property to route and manage the AUDAC system installed outdoors. Spottune's Stream operates independently of that infrastructure, receiving its music source through a standard input, which kept the restaurant's installation simple even as the surrounding hotel ran a more complex AV setup alongside it.
El Olivo now delivers a consistent, uniform sound experience across its full seating capacity, easy to install and reliable enough for a property of Meliá's standard. For ArtPro and Salao Mozart, the project demonstrated that Spottune's wireless system, ease of installation, and 360-degree coverage made it the right fit for a high-capacity hotel restaurant, running cleanly alongside the separate audio technology chosen for the rest of the property.
For hotels balancing several areas with different audio needs at once, Meliá Braga sits alongside Hotel Vejlefjord and Hotel Kämp as proof that a single wireless system can deliver consistent, high-capacity sound for one specific space, restaurant, lobby, or bar, without needing to take over every area of the property at once.
